Restoration of a section of the medieval wall on Calle Carretería, 62 and 64.
Upon starting construction work on a building these archaeological remains were unearthed. They consisted of a section of wall that was 8 metres long, plus a tower that was 8.80 metres, which were part of the old wall that surrounded the city. When it ceased to have a defensive purpose, it was used to enclose and support the buildings adjacent to it.
Our work consisted of repairing brickwork to preserve it, strengthen it and restore its original appearance. To do this, we used techniques and materials from the period.
A square was also built in front of the walls, with granite tiling and panelling on the walls. The tower and wall were enclosed by a fence.
